NBC Now CastingNew   PINTS FOR PROSTATE

Pints for Prostates is an awareness campaign designed to reach men through the universal language of beer. They want to communicate with men in a friendly and non-threatening way about the need for regular PSA testing. The symptoms of prostate cancer rarely show before the disease has progressed, but a simple PSA blood test can serve as an early warning and save men's lives.

Work is now underway to reach out to breweries, brewpubs and on-premise retailers to get their support in a cooperative effort among industry partners. The aim is to raise funds for Us TOO's outreach efforts and to spark a grassroots effort to reach men that might be missed through traditional health education programs.

Go to BAR NEWS to open/download their original Press Release for all details, and visit their new web page at www.ustoo.org/pints too!

IMPORTANT MESSAGES

BARTENDER Magazine has Something to Say!

Editorial NYC Bar Show Editorial for Summer 2009:

"In a time when jobs are scarce and money is tight, the last thing you'd expect a state to do would be to send more people to the unemployment lines. But that's exactly what has happened ... with the New Tax Increase on Alcohol ... The idea that taxing alcohol will solve a state's financial problems is spreading, and there seems to be no end in sight."
